'Women in… Work: The causes & solutions to the inequality women face in work', a conversation with LSE Professor Oriana Bandiera

At our next branch meeting we will be joined by Oriana Bandiera, who will be sharing with us her research on how women navigate the inequalities they face in the workplace as well as the impact of family policies, followed by a Q&A.
*Some facts*
- 45 years the Equal Pay Act, women earn less per hour, less per job and less overall than men.
- For every hour they work, women still earn just 81p of every £1 earned by men.

Big corporations are now in the spot light because of the gender pay gap. Equal pay and transparency is one of our core objectives and WE are ahead of other parties on asking for this.

If you care about these issues, join our discussion on Tuesday October 10th, at the Duchess of Cambridge from 19:00. Entrance is free but a £5 donation would be appreciated. This event is open to everyone, please bring your friends!
Oriana Bandiera is the Sir Anthony Atkinson Professor of Economics and the Director of the Suntory and Toyota Centre for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD) at the London School of Economics. She is director of the research programme in State Capabilities within the International Growth Centre (IGC), and of the research programme in Development Economics at CEPR. Her research focuses on the ways in which incentives affect people’s behaviour, and how far these effects depend on social context or social relationships.
