WE Stand

Three North London branches - Barnet, Enfield and Haringey - are holding a joint meeting on Thursday 19th October in Wood Green to encourage North London women to stand as WEP candidates for the local council elections in May 2018. With a keynote speech by party leader Sophie Walker, this is your chance to find out what being a councillor means for you and your community. For example, find out what skills you need, how much time is involved and what expenses are paid for doing this vital work. You’ll get a chance to put questions to branch leaders and committee members, and hear from one young member who has already put her name forward as a candidate.

The venue is wheelchair-friendly and easily accessible by public transport - the Green Rooms is near Wood Green station and various bus routes (184, 221, 329 and W3).

Parking can be found at The Mall 5 minutes away.

Doors will open at 7.30 for a prompt 8pm start.
