Hackney and Islington combined WEP branches.
WE need to get ready for local council elections in May 2018, and this interactive and informal workshop is designed to help us do just that.

- What it takes to plan and run a successful campaign
- The role of the candidate
- Creating a cohesive and committed canvassing and support team
Who is this session for?
Anyone who would like to:
- Know more about standing as a candidate
- Be involved in WE local election campaigns as a canvasser
- Be a strategist or work as vital back office support
If you have experience to share from previous elections that would be great too. All welcome!

- Melanie Howard and Chris Paouros, former GLA candidates and Islington and Hackney branch leads
- Alison Marshall, GLA candidate with significant experience of local politics
- Amy Killen, who masterminded last year’s Brockley by-election campaign

There will be food and drink and engaging activities that will help you meet others. We will play 'Who Am I' with the names of amazing and famous women and we will host a feminist book raffle.
If you have never made it to one of our meetings, this is the one to come to! You will meet like-minded people while supporting your local branch of the Women's Equality Party.
Tickets are £10 per person. You will get plenty to eat and a glass of wine as well as a ticket to our equality book raffle. There will be vegan options and soft drinks. Partygoers can get additional drinks from the bar downstairs.
Children are welcome.

Where: Duchess of Cambridge pub (320 Goldhawk Road, W6 0XF), five minutes' walk from Stamford Brook Station.
Dress code: wear whatever you like, come as you are! We will be sharing tinsel necklaces for those who want to glam-up after work or kiddies' bath time.

The Milton Keynes Women’s Equality Party branch is holding their December meeting in Olney. We are looking to Olney residents to see how we can best represent you to achieve equality.

Our monthly branch meeting is held on the third Monday of every month at Durrington Community Centre. Attendees are asked to donate a couple of pounds to cover the cost of the venue.
