In the Centenary year since women got the vote, join us in celebrating the women standing up to change politics in Manchester!
It has been 100 years since (some) women gained the hard won right to vote... there have been huge steps forward in the rights of women since then, but now more than ever it feels as if there are still huge steps that we need to take.
The Women's Equality Party believes that we need more women in politics to make these steps forward happen.
Join us on Wednesday 24 January as we launch our plan for 2018, including the fabulous ladies who are standing in the upcoming local council elections to push forward gender equality. We will also host a talk from Professor Julia Rouse, head of the Sylvia Pankhurst Gender Research Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University, alongside music and talks from Manchester Women's Equality Party.
Nibbles and a glass of wine will be provided with your ticket and a bar will be available! A great evening where you can learn more but also can get involved (if you wish).
In order to have more votes for women, and to stand these incredible women to vote for, we need some help:
- Can you donate your time to help us run this campaign...
- Do you have a business or skill that culd help us? Printing, leafletting, venue space, planning... we need it all!
- Could you make a financial donation to help us stand the candidates?
Please come along to hear about the incredible work we will be doing in 2018 and how you can get involved. We look forward to seeing you.
