It’s been 50 years since the Abortion Act and women in England, Scotland and Wales still have to prove to two doctors that their pregnancy involves a bigger risk to their mental or physical health than having an abortion. The Act was never extended to Northern Ireland and terminations are only permitted if a woman's life or long-term health is at serious risk. We are not criminals. We don’t need permission to make decisions about our own bodies. We won’t submit to out-dated and unjust rules. No more asking nicely for approval from those who think they know what’s best for us.
