In 1996, The Women’s Communication Centre distributed postcards in banks, libraries, cafes and community centres across the UK asking women one simple question: “What do you want?”. Ten thousand women responded, changing political landscape and equalities legislation. 20 years later, WE are doing it all over again.
Following discussion of what women in Stockport want from life, we will hear from two special guests.
- Gabi Hesk, Lecturer in Social Work at The University of Salford and recent speaker at the Politics of Women of Colour conference, will talk to us about the issues discussed at the conference.
- A young lady with a lot to say about our recent #NoSizeFitsAll campaign.
Branch volunteers will be canvassing across Stockport during October, and we'll be talking about the issues in detail at this event. Join us and be heard.
