If there is one thing we've learnt from reading feminist literature it is this - not all feminists agree on the how and why, but we all agree for the need of equality. From the suffragettes, to second wave feminists, from A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects (1792) to #metoo women's writing is compelling, political and creates real change.

Reading and discussing the rich history of feminism though different texts we hope to be inspired into action and healthy debate.

Which is why we launched our Feminist Book Club. This month we are reading Jess Phillips' book Everywoman - one woman's truth about speaking the truth.

Please join us on Saturday 14th July, 10 - 11am at Arlington's Cafe, Ipswich for the second instalment of our new Feminist Book ClubCome and find us in the café on the ground floor.

We will also discuss in which way each text contributes, challenges or confirms the 7 objectives of WEP;
Equal Representation
Equal Pay and Opportunity
Equal Parenting and Caregiving
Equal Education
Equal Media Treatment
End Violence Against Women
Equality in Healthcare and Medical Research

It doesn't matter if you have only read the first chapter, got stuck half-way or finished the book in one sitting, come along and join in the conversation. All are welcome.
