Feminist Book Club - August

If there is one thing we've learnt from reading feminist literature it is this - not all feminists agree on the how and why, but we all agree for the need of equality. From the suffragettes, to second wave feminists, from A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects (1792) to #metoo women's writing is compelling, political and creates real change.

Reading and discussing the rich history of feminism though different texts we hope to be inspired into action and healthy debate.

Which is why we launched our Feminist Book Club. This month we are reading Sara Pascoe's book Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body.

Please join us on Saturday 11th August, 10 - 11am at Arlington's Cafe, Ipswich for the third instalment of our new Feminist Book Club. Come and find us in the café on the ground floor.

We will also discuss in which way each text contributes, challenges or confirms the 7 objectives of WEP;
Equal Representation
Equal Pay and Opportunity
Equal Parenting and Caregiving
Equal Education
Equal Media Treatment
End Violence Against Women
Equality in Healthcare and Medical Research

It doesn't matter if you have only read the first chapter, got stuck half-way or finished the book in one sitting, come along and join in the conversation. All are welcome.
