We’re delighted to announce that Women’s Equality will be running a candidate in Bethnal Green Ward for this year’s Tower Hamlets council elections.

Why run a candidate in Tower Hamlets?

Tower Hamlets is rated highest in health inequalities for all residents, which in turn disproportionately effects women. With the highest poverty rate of all the London boroughs at 39%, issues such as child poverty, unemployment, rent affordability and homelessness are among some of the pressing issues for Tower Hamlets. That’s why WE need you to help fight for equality!

Volunteer yourself for one of these jobs, there is something to suit everyone:

Signatures - Do you live in Bethnal Green? If so, we need 10 signatures for our candidates formal nomination.

It's a one time job, sign up and we'll be in touch.

Canvassers - Want to get stuck in? Come canvassing with us, all training is provided - it is fun and easy.

When - Tuesdays: 6:30 to 8:30pm - Saturdays & Sundays: 10:30am to 12:30pm - 2:30 to 4:30pm
Where - Bethnal Green ward.
How - Training is provided, you'll never be left unsupported.

Phonebankers - Fancy a chat? Help us engage better with our supporters and voters.

When - Tuesdays: 6:30 to 8:30pm - Weekends available on request.
Where - Women's Equality Party central office near London Bridge.

Stall helpers - Want free access to interesting events? We have stalls at number of events and need help womanning the stalls.

When & Where - Dates and locations of our upcoming events are here.

Data support - Rather help us with a biscuit and a cuppa? This role can be done at home where its warm. You'll need a laptop!

When - Whenever you have spare time.
Where - At home!
How - A laptop and home network is required.

Fundraisers - Love organising? Our fundraising team need volunteers to help them organise the event.

When - You give your spare time whenever you have it.
Where - Anyplace!

Community engagement - Love people? We need volunteers to meet with community groups, find out about local issues and spark collaborations.

When - Flexible, but volunteers with availability in the daytime will be treasured.
Where - You go where the community is.

Leafletters - Want some exercise without the chit-chat? We need plenty of hands to deliver leaflets.

When - You can pick and choose from a variety of dates and times, daytime and evening.
Where - Bethnal Green ward.

Comms support - Are you a social media influencer or just love it? Help out our comms team with tweets, posts and mentions.

When - Your time, given regularly, is all we need.
Where - Anywhere your smartphone can go.
