In order to balance family and career throughout my working life, my overall earnings and pension have been significantly reduced. My partner would say that he wishes he could have spent more time with the children when they were younger. Both our girls are well educated and want both a career and a family. I would love to see more flexibility in the workplace for both women and men, particularly but not exclusively for those who have young children. A five day week of 35/40 hours is not the only way to work.
