WE are taking action
When the US Supreme Court rollbacked abortion rights, it left women across the globe reeling.
Nicola Sturgeon was right when she said it was, “one of the darkest days for women’s rights” and has responded by hosting a summit and makes plans to rollout buffer zones more widely to stave off anti-choice protestors at abortion clinics.
This is reassuring, but it is not enough. Abortion legislation in Scotland is hugely out of date. It needs modernising urgently because, as things stand, abortion is still part of the criminal code. This literally means that women can be prosecuted for choosing to end a pregnancy.
No woman should ever be prosecuted for exercising her bodily autonomy. So, WE are taking action.
What are we calling for?
To completely remove abortion from the criminal code and for it to be treated like the healthcare procedure that it is.
When?
