Geoffrey Boycott was convicted of holding a woman down and punching her 20 times in the face before leaving her to pay their hotel bill. He was just given a knighthood.
We are constantly told that the reason men do not face consequences for violence and abuse is a lack of evidence, her word against his. Here is absolute proof that lack of evidence has nothing to do with it. It is a lack of will. A belief that violence and abuse is excusable if you are powerful enough or good enough at cricket.
This Government failed to remove a single MP accused of harassment and abuse during the Westminster scandal, they dropped the investigation into Mark Field who was caught on camera grabbing a woman by the neck and now they are knighting a man who held a woman down and punched her in the face 20 times.
It’s as simple as this - violent and abusive men should face consequences, no matter who their friends are.
WE demand that the Government acts immediately to revoke domestic abuser Geoffrey Boycott’s knighthood.
