Every year we look for new people to join our committee and keep our branch filled with new ideas and new energy.

There are four formal positions on the branch committee and post holders can stay in place for two years after each set of branch elections.  Our current treasurer (Jenni Richards) and data manager (Fiona Heseltine) are both happy to stay in place for a second year.  The two posts that will be open for election are Branch Leader and Branch Communications Lead.

If you would like to be part of the decision-making team but don’t fancy one of the specific roles above, you can apply to be a general member on the branch committee.  Every year we have a committee of around five to ten people who are all part of the decision-making processes, and who bring different things to the table. Depending on your passions and skills, this could see you organising events to engage members and fundraise, campaigning on local issues like the gender pay gap, or making connections with other organisations and campaign groups that share our aims. The committee meet once a month, but we understand that members can’t always make every meeting due to other commitments. The deadline for putting your name forward is Sunday 2nd June.  If more than one name has been put forward for Branch Leader or Branch Comms we will take a vote on the role at the Branch meeting on Wednesday 5th June which will be held online to maximise attendance.
