WE Barnet are delighted to invite you to join us for talk on Women in Art by Julia Weiner which will focus on three artists: Sonia Delaunay, Frida Kahlo and Lee Krasner who during their lifetime were better known as the spouses of their better-known husbands but whose work has in recent years been justly celebrated with major exhibitions in London. Julia will examine their lives and works and the reasons why it took many years for their work to receive the critical acclaim that it deserved. Julia is an art and design historian with extensive experience of teaching in museums and galleries. She has worked in this field for over 20 years. She is currently Senior Lecturer in Art History at Regent's University London where she has worked since 2005. Julia also works at the Victoria & Albert Museum and is the art critic of the Jewish Chronicle. Additionally, she is a freelance curator and has co-curated two exhibitions for the Jewish Museum London. She also curates exhibitions for the Knapp Gallery at Regent’s University. |
