WE Barnet are delighted to invite you to join us for an Evening in Conversation with Dame Una O'Brien as part of our new series of Special Events. Open to all WE members and supporters. Una was the first woman to be Permanent Secretary at The Department of Health.
Una is a Leadership Coach and trustee on several boards. Until 2016, she was a civil servant at the Department of Health (DH). For the last six years there, she was the Permanent Secretary, the first woman to lead the DH, and one of very few women ever to reach that level in the UK civil service. On one view her career within the civil service looks predictable, but if you look more closely at Una's journey and where she started, she was a very unlikely candidate to smash one of Whitehall's glass ceilings.
As well as exploring aspects of Una's career and life journey, we'll also have a chance to hear what she thinks about the state of health and social care. WE hope to see you there.
Tickets in advance are £6.98 (inc admin fee). To book your place using Eventbrite >>
Refreshments and home-cakes will be available. This a WEP Barnet fund-raising event for our GLA 2020 Elections Campaign.
Thank you.
