Despite much advancement women still occupy the lowest paid jobs, are poorly represented in the media, boardrooms and in politics and shoulder the majority of the responsibility for unpaid care work. Gender stereotypes are rife and children are pigeonholed from birth and expected to behave according to limiting gender based expectations. This negatively effects everyone.
