In the 100 years since changes to the law enabled the first women to participate in elections as voters and candidates, 489 women MPs have been elected to sit in the House of Commons. This is 47 more than the number of men elected to the House in a single day in June 2017.

At the Women’s Equality Party, we are making politics open to everyone. Seventy percent of our members had never been a member of a political party until they found us, and ninety percent of our delegates had never been to a party conference before. All but one of our candidates was contesting an election for the first time.  We are getting to the heart of the political system and delivering powerful, exciting and collaborative ideas to make the other parties sit up and pay attention.
