Concessions and Access Fund
Bringing the Conference Online
When is the conference?
The 2020 party conference will be held from Thursday 15th October to Sunday 18th October.
Where is the conference?
The 2020 party conference will be online.
When do tickets go on sale?
Early Bird tickets went on sale on Thursday 23rd June at 10am. The next wave of tickets goes on sale on the 24th July.
How much are tickets?
Ticket prices vary for members and supporters. Please see here to find out more.
What are concessionary tickets and the access fund?
Concessionary tickets are a limited number of tickets available for those members who are unable to afford to pay the full price to attend the Conference. The access fund is available for members whose weekend might incur access costs which would prevent them from attending, or support bridging the digital divide for those who may not be able to access the Conference online. For example, the employment of a carer, childcare or internet access.
When are applications for a concessionary ticket and the access fund open?
Concessionary tickets will go on sale in the First Wave of tickets, released after Early Bird. Applications open from 24th July and close on 21st August.
What are the criteria for concessionary tickets and the access fund?
We have a limited number of concessionary tickets available for those who might otherwise struggle to pay for a ticket. You can apply for a concessionary ticket or the access fund if you are a:
- member on a low-income / in financial hardship
- member whose weekend might incur access costs which would prevent them from attending (for example, employment of a carer)
How can I apply for a concessionary ticket or the access fund?
If you would like to apply for a concessionary ticket, or the access fund, please email email@example.com with ‘Concessionary Ticket Application’ in the subject line. You will be required to fill in a form answering the following question:
- Why your financial situation might qualify you for a concessionary ticket
When will I know if I qualify?
We will respond to your request within two weeks of applications closing on 21st August.
What is the 'donate a ticket' option?
When you buy your conference ticket, you'll be given the option to 'donate a ticket'. This donation will be used to provide tickets to those who apply for a Concessionary ticket, to support those who apply for the access fund and to ensure the Conference is accessible.
Can I give a donated ticket to a person of my choice?
I can no longer make the event - do I get a refund?
If you’d like to apply for a refund for your ticket, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Unfortunately, Eventbrite’s fees are non-refundable.
What if the event is cancelled?
You will receive a full refund if the event is cancelled.
Why are you moving the conference online?
We made the decision to move the conference online for several reasons. Firstly, we assessed the risk that venues will not be open in October and large crowds will not be permitted to gather. Secondly, we are able to make the conference accessible for a larger group than previously. We are able to make the tickets cheaper, and online events don’t require attendees to travel a long way to a venue. The party has recognised bringing the conference online is an opportunity to create an innovative new way to bring members and supporters from across the country together.
How do I access the conference?
The conference will be accessed via an online platform. The platform will have an interactive schedule and links for attendees to access individual talks, panels and workshops. Shortly before the Conference you will be sent a link to access the platform. We will publish guidance about how to use the platform in the coming months.
What technology will I have to use?
The event video conferencing will be using Zoom. In the run up to conference, we’ll be publishing guidance for using the technology required. We want the event to be as accessible and easy to use as possible.
Do I have to watch or listen to all of the conference?
Not at all. You’re able to dip in and out of the conference at your convenience.
Can we still debate and change Party policy?
