Cook Like A Feminist - Tickets

Join Harini Iyengar, WEP GLA Candidate 2021, and a special guest online for a feminist fundraising cookalong.

Each week a guest will guide Harini through cooking a delicious, affordable and easy to follow recipe whilst discussing why they chose the recipe, and why cooking and nurturing yourself with good food is a feminist act.

Saturday 12th December, 6-7pm - Dr Sunil Kumar

Dr Sunil Kumar describes himself as an “insurgent academic” and teaches at the London School of Economics and Political Science.  He is also the “feminist husband” and family cook to Women’s Equality Party London Assembly List Candidate and disability rights activist, Dr Sarabajaya Kumar.  He will teach Harini a quick, easy, delicious Indian menu whilst chatting about what cooking means to him, its origins in his Indian upbringing, cooking for the first time as a student in the Netherlands, and becoming the family cook.

Saturday 19 December 2020, 6-7pm - Student Edition with Aada Orava and Chandrasekhar Iyengar

Aada Orava and Chandrasekhar Iyengar will teach Harini to cook an economic, tasty, Instagram-worthy dish, which can be prepared with equal ease in a shared communal kitchen or private kitchen. Aada is a Politics and International Relations student who grew up in Finland, the first country to grant women full political rights, in 1906, where a woman Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, now leads a coalition government of women-led parties. Chandrasekhar is a Mathematics student and Harini’s son, who has been a strong pillar of support to Harini in her political activism for the Women’s Equality Party since 2015.

More special guests from all walks of life to be announced soon… including Catherine Mayer, author and Co-Founder and President of the Women’s Equality Party.
