I’m a human rights lawyer, a lone parent of three and an activist for equality. I studied at Oxford University before moving to London, where I was called to the Bar in 1999, seven months pregnant. Today, I’m ranked as a leading barrister in Employment, Equality and Education, and a key campaigner for diversity in the legal profession.
I campaigned for Remain and, as your MP, I will fight for the rights of EU citizens in the UK and work tirelessly to make sure there’s a fair deal for all. My immigrant parents were both NHS doctors, and I believe it’s time to value the contributions migrants make to our community.
I work full-time and raise three children as their lone parent, so I know first hand the barriers for parents and caregivers, which too often hold them back from realising their potential. That’s why I’m committed to a caring economy and universal, affordable childcare.
As your local MP I would work hard to listen and represent our constituency. I will use my seat in Parliament to hold the government to account on the entire Brexit process and press for progressive policies.
