Equality in health policy consultation - York

Join us in York for a consultation on our draft Equality in Health policy, on the topics of health services and ending violence against women and girls (VAWG), and barriers to accessing to services.

The Women’s Equality Party will put sex and gender at the centre of healthcare policy for the first time and thereby create a health system that sees and celebrates women - supporting healthier outcomes all round.

VAWG is a health issue because of the mental and physical damage it causes; evidenced in the estimated cost of domestic violence to the health sector of £1.7 billion a year. Intersecting inequalities compound many women’s experiences of an unequal health system. Lesbian women, for example, experience poorer health outcomes compared to heterosexual women including depression, stress and anxiety, cancer, asthma and musculoskeletal issues.

WE can’t wait to get your input on policies to address these inequalities.

Spaces are limited so reserve your place as soon as possible.

WE look forward to seeing you there!
