🌙 Culture Club is proud to bring you its first event since growing from a monthly book club: Women in Space! 🌙
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing, Culture Club will take a look at the movies, books, podcasts, plays and anything else we can find that celebrates women and our impact on not just the space race, but in science, engineering, astronomy and physics.
The format for this event will be something a bit different from the standard book club.
All we ask is that each of you bring one recommendation with you, that you are willing to talk to us about, based on our theme.
We will then break out into smaller groups to discuss your ‘Top 5 WEP Recommends’ books/podcasts/exhibitions/films/music etc.
This will not be based around the Women in Space theme, but will cover all of our favourite works over the years. This list will then be curated and shared among WEP members.
💡If you have any ideas for a day or evening out seeing an exhibition/band/play/podcast recording then bring them along too, and we will vote on our first Culture Club outing. And don’t forget our Feminist Book Swap: bring a book you’re willing to lend or give away and share with us the reason why it’s one you recommend.
📅 Wednesday 24th July
⏰ From 7pm onwards
🏡 The White Horse pub, Brixton Hill, SW2 1QN
Join us all day or for a few hours, we'll be chatting to people, taking short surveys and promoting our wonderful branch and party
Bring a snack or two and come along! We’ll be discussing GLA planning and upcoming campaigns, as well as the usual feminist chat! It’s a great chance to come along and say hi, so if you’ve never been to a meet-up before please do feel welcome to join. Families welcome.
This is our monthly Branch meet-up where we discuss local issues, campaign strategising and event planning.
Our meetings are a relaxed and friendly space, open to all members and supporters. WE would love to have you there.
Join us to know what WE are doing and how you can get involved with moving equality forward.
Please RSVP below. We look forward to seeing you!
All members and supporters are welcome to join us in central Exeter for our regular branch meeting.
- From 6-7pm we will discuss branch business.
- From 7-8pm we'll be holding a discussion session.
The discussion for August will be around the climate emergency.
You can come for the whole meeting, or for whichever half you can make. Please do RSVP though, so we can send you anything to read in advance (and plan the snacks).
The venue is in the centre of Exeter, close to public transport and car-parking. It's also fully accessible.
Join us for our monthly pub & politics. We gather on the first Wednesday of every month for informal chats about all things political, feminist and local. Just drop in!
Now is an especially good time to come along as you can find out what we're planning for the 2020 Greater London Assembly elections.
The three compasses pub is wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilet and nearby parking.
Come along and meet other WE Enfield members and supporters for a summer drink, let's talk about what you would like politics to look like, given that it's broken!
We would love to see you at our next branch meeting, we have so many exciting things coming up locally in Waltham Forest and further afield with the GLA Campaign.
Join the next Branch Meeting where we'll be discussing ongoing campaigns, upcoming elections and there will be opportunities for you to get more involved if you'd like to.
Everyone welcome and there are always new people attending - no experience of politics necessary!
This is the third Tunbridge Wells PRIDE event and it’s an amazingly joyous and fun day.
We’ve been there every year with the biggest banner supporting equality for the LGBT+ community.
Meet us at 11.45 by the Clock Tower ready for the parade to start at 12 noon.
It starts with a drum banging, whistle blowing parade for all the family through Tunbridge Wells, ending up at The Forum. So join us to have a really fun party parade with your faces painted or glitter on, whistles at the ready, posters, banners, flowers and bright clothes or WEP tshirts.
At the Forum there are various speeches, musical events and food stall and you can stay all afternoon. Or bring your own picnic and stay for the afternoon.
Then later for the adults there is PRIDE LATE at The Forum, with bands and music to dance to all evening -tickets can be bought directly from the organisers of PRIDE TW separately for this from https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/pride-late-tunbridge-wells-forum-tickets/9495325
We’ve always had a huge gathering for this, so why not join us this year and march behind WEPTWells banner - EQUALITY IS BETTER FOR EVERYONE!
