Feminist book Club - Girl Woman Other

Girl_Woman_Other.jpg

Join us for our regular Feminist Book Club. This month we are reading Girl, Woman Other by Bernadine Evaristo, which won the Booker Prize in 2019.

"Teeming with life and crackling with energy — a love song to modern Britain and black womanhood"

Girl, Woman, Other follows the lives and struggles of twelve very different characters. Mostly women, black and British, they tell the stories of their families, friends and lovers, across the country and through the years.

It doesn't matter if you've read the whole book, half of it or the first 10 pages, come and join in the conversation. All welcome.

WE stand with Exeter Pride 2020

Exeter Pride will be happening in May 2020, and WE will be there!

WE are proud to take part in the parade through the city centre, and run a stall where you can find out how the Women's Equality Party support LBGTQ+ inclusive policies. It's a great chance to stop by for a chat and - unless we run out before the end of the day - one of our brilliant stickers.

  • Let us know if you'll be coming below, and let others know we're standing with Pride using the social buttons.

You can also volunteer to help us on the day. There's lots to do, we try to factor in any adjustments and we'll make sure you get time to enjoy the day as well. Tick the volunteer box below to tell us you're interested in helping.

Exeter Pub and Politics - May 2020

It's local election eve, and our footsore canvassing teams will be able to have a rest for a bit at our social evening.

Our social is for members and supporters to catch-up in a informal setting. No agenda, just a chat over food and drink (including non-alcoholic). The conversations are liable to wander away from politics, as this is about getting to know each other. Drop in for 30 minutes or the whole time.

Venue to be confirmed.

Feel free to bring a friend, or let us know if you'd like to buddy up to arrive with someone else.

If you RSVP below then you'll receive updates and we'll be able to let the venue know final numbers.

  • We're always looking for volunteers to run the stall for a bit too: let us know if you can do an hour or so by ticking the box below when you send your RSVP.

Exeter Respect is the city’s annual celebration of diversity where we use the performing and creative arts to engage the wider community in saying no to racism and all forms of prejudice. Find out more on the Exeter Respect website.
