The Women’s Equality Haringey & Barnet branch is very excited to be holding the first two of several training evenings for members and supporters who would like to get more involved with the local branch of the party. Some of you have asked us to arrange these so that you have a better understanding of the different roles you can play (for example, leafleting, running stalls, canvassing, fund-raising, social events and networking) and because you told us you want to feel more confident in delivering our key messages to potential voters. And most importantly, because WE need to be election ready, just in case!
The training will be delivered in three parts with the first Module on Thursday 22 September 2016 from 18.30 – 20.30 at Elsie’s Café, 10 Priory Road, London N8 7RD www.elsie-n8.co.uk
The training sessions will be run by a panel of experienced international trainers including Dr Karen Moloney and Annette Kurer, WE Founder Members and local branch committee members. Karen will run the first session by way of general introduction for everyone, so for those of you who would like to get closer to the branch or are feeling a little intimidated by the idea of conveying WE’s message, please don’t be! The whole idea of these sessions is to enable you to feel more confident and excited by being able to recruit potential supporters and voters to WE. The second Module is on Thursday 29 September at the same time and venue and will concentrate specifically on how to canvass and how to engage in debate with interested parties. The third session is yet to be finalised but it may be for those who want to organise a campaign in their local area.
Entrance is free of charge and there will be a cash bar serving tea, coffee and delicious cakes as well as wine, beer, cocktails and gin for after the training session!
