Guest speaker: Andrew Harrop, the general secretary of the Fabian Society.

The Fabian Society is Britain’s oldest political think tank. Emmeline Pankhurst was a member. Founded in 1884, the Society says that it is at the forefront of developing political ideas and public policy on the left. The society was one of the original founders of the Labour Party and is constitutionally affiliated as a socialist society.  They have a Women's branch which is fascinating and offers amongst other things a mentoring program for women to get into politics, which as you know, is a core objective of WEP
