Lambeth elections

Thursday 11th April - Vote Leila for Women's Equality in Thornton ward

Leila Fazal is really proud to be standing in the forthcoming Thornton ward by-election on 11th April 2019, as your Women's Equality Party candidate.

WE is the only party to demand equality.

WE are pushing for equal representation in politics, business, industry and throughout working life. WE are pressing for equal pay and an equal opportunity to thrive. WE are campaigning for equal parenting and care-giving and shared responsibilities at home to give everyone equal opportunities both in family life and in the workplace. WE urge an education system that creates opportunities for all children and an understanding of why this matters. WE strive for equal treatment of women by and in the media. WE seek an end to violence against women. WE will pursue equal healthcare.

On a local level, within Lambeth, WE are pushing for safety zones around abortion clinics, WE are working with local campaign groups on reducing high levels of pollution (Brixton has one of the highest polluted roads in Europe!), WE are pressing the council to protect our children's services (they are seeking to close over 20 children's centres), WE have complained about the closure of libraries, WE have challenged the council's de-prioritisation of safe, affordable and social housing, WE have questioned their expenditure of refurbishing the Brixton Town Hall (at a cost of over £104 million) and WE have challenged their licencing of sex venues.

WE Lambeth are at the forefront of local activism.

Vote for the Women's Equality Party on 11th April!

A vote for WE in this by-election will send a clear message to other political parties - women's equality needs to be addressed and women need to be better represented.
