WILL YOU HELP US TO DELIVER EQUALITY?
Writing a will is an important way to make sure your wishes will be followed and to give you peace of mind.
‘I am 68. I have a good income but not enough to give great amounts to WEP whilst alive. It was a no brainer to me to decide to leave everything to WEP once I am gone. Where else will my money make as great an impact? But if I hadn’t done my will, WEP just wouldn’t have been provided for.’- Val Carpenter, WE member
Will you follow Val’s example and include the Women’s Equality Party in your Will?
Please consult a solicitor before making a Will.
You may wish to provide your solicitor with the following wording:
“I give the sum of £_________ to the Women’s Equality Party of Studio 18, Bluelion Place, Long Lane, London SE1 4PU, GB Registered Political Party No. PP2755. I further direct that the receipt of the person who professes to be the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Women’s Equality Party shall be full and sufficient discharge for said legacy.”
You can leave either a specific sum, or a percentage of what you have. That’s up to you. But please take inspiration from Val, and invest in the next generation of women.
If you have already made a Will, you probably know that it’s a good idea to keep it under review as your circumstances change. Next time you review you Will, please ask your solicitor to include something for the Women’s Equality Party.
WE hope it will be many years before WE actually benefit from your bequest. Some of us who are discussing it now may not even be around. But someone will be – a future feminist or activist who will be as grateful to your legacy to Women’s Equality as WE are to Val.
If you intend to leave a legacy to the Women’s Equality Party, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please email us firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know of your pledge to leave a legacy or complete the pledge form >>
Making a pledge does not commit you in any way to making a legacy.
A legacy can be changed or altered at any time during your lifetime.
To make a donation over £500 you must be registered on the UK electoral role.
If your donation exceeds £7,500 WE is required to declare your gift, on receipt, to the Electoral Commission.
WE cannot receive a gift with conditions attached.
Your legacy donation will be free from inheritance tax.
If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com
However, please remember that WE cannot provide legal advice.
Thank you for taking Women’s Equality to the next generation.
