Like many others, I was aware of other countries having political parties which stood for women's equality and in the back of my mind somewhere hoped that it would be only a matter of time before the UK got one too. Also, like many others, the first news I heard was via BBC Radio 4 with the announcement on one day that Sandi was standing down from the News Quiz (sad face) and the following day that reason was she was founding a Women's Equality Party (happy face). I knew instantly that I wanted to get involved and I'm now helping to run my local branch in Southwark!
