In the month since the Casey Review rocked policing, the government and the police have continued to ignore, deny and deflect the findings. Baroness Casey's report into police culture laid bare that the Met are institutionally racist, institutionally sexist and institutionally homophobic. Across the whole force, and at every level. And worst of all, they are in complete denial about the harms they have caused, and continue to cause every day.
Following the publication of Baroness Casey’s damning report, WE launched our “See it. Say it. Ignore it.” campaign in train stations across England and Wales to demand the government stops ignoring misogyny in policing.
This campaign isn’t over yet. It’s a watershed moment for policing. Trust is at rock bottom and the police and the government are in complete denial about the scale of the problem. Until they can accept the findings, any efforts they make to change policing will fail. WE are taking action and we need you.
