This week is election week - there are only a few days left until North Yorkshire elects their new Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner. If we can make waves in this election it will be a game changer in the fight to end violence against women and girls.
Our campaign has brought together women from across the county who want to send one message loud and clear. Enough is enough. We urgently need action to end violence against women and girls.
This final weekend is our last opportunity to show politicians everywhere that they will pay at the ballot box for not taking decisive action to end violence. We will be on the campaign trail all weekend, and on Saturday we will be holding a campaign rally in Rougier Street, labelled as one of the places women feel most unsafe in York, to reclaim the streets and demand our right to live free from fear.
Can you join us to help ensure our message is heard?
This is our opportunity to build a brighter future for women and girls in North Yorkshire, and to show that politicians everywhere that there are political consequences for not taking decisive action to end violence against women and girls.
The rally will feature the incredible:
- Dr. Hannah Barham-Brown, North Yorkshire PFCC Candidate and Women's Equality Party Deputy Leader
- Mandu Reid, Leader of the Women's Equality Party
Join us at 6pm as WE Rally to end violence against women and girls.
