PFCC Fundraising Phonebank - 16th November

PFCC Fundraising Phonebank - 16th November

"So women, first of all, need to be streetwise" - Philip Allott, disgraced former Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for North Yorkshire in response to women’s very real fears for their safety.

Enough is Enough

Faced with women’s very real fears of violence, politicians have offered nothing but victim blaming, empty words and piecemeal measures. When the press coverage ends, it’s back to business as usual; their interest in tackling this fades, and ending violence only lasts as long as the news cycle.

We cannot allow that to happen. Which is why WE will be contesting the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner by-election this November but we need your help to make it happen.

PFCC’s have the power to reshape policing in their areas, they have a huge discretionary budget for crime prevention and victim support. This by-election is an opportunity for us to lead the way and set a template for how political leaders should be tackling violence against women and girls.

About the phone banks

☕ Make sure you have tea and snacks on hand as calling is thirsty work!

📱 Bring your phone - only if you have enough minutes and are happy to do so. We’ll help you turn caller ID off so your number won’t be shared.

😰 If you have never done a fundraising phonebank before, or feel nervous about calling strangers, be reassured that we will provide full training at the start and call scripts, and answer all your questions before you start calling.

💻 You'll need your computer/device so we can connect to each other on zoom for the training and to get support as we go along. Staff and senior volunteers will be there to help and support.

🎉 There's a lot to celebrate! Fundraising and voter targets, best calls and most successful - although we can't all get together these are social events where you can connect with other volunteers.

🏆 Can't make the training but still want to volunteer? Sign up here.
