Somerset branch meeting - 22 Aug - with Rosie Boycott

We're delighted to announce that the brilliant Rosie Boycott will be joining us at our next branch meeting! Please join us at 7.30pm on Monday 22nd August, in the Wiveliscombe Community Centre (West St, Wiveliscombe TA4 2JP). There's limited disabled parking in front of the centre, otherwise there's a free public car park on Croft Way (from the car park, follow the path/steps up the hill and the centre is on the left-hand side).

Rosie_Boycott.jpgJournalist and feminist Rosie co-founded Spare Rib, the feminist magazine that was published from 1972 until 1993; she became a director of Virago Press, publishing writing by women; she was the first female editor of two national broadsheet newspapers – The Independent and The Independent on Sunday; she campaigned for the decriminalisation of cannabis; and in 2008 she was appointed as the chair of London Food – to help improve Londoners' access to healthy, locally produced and affordable food. Rosie's been living in Somerset for over 11 years and currently lives just outside Wiveliscombe.

There will be an opportunity for Q&As, so if you have any advance questions for Rosie please email them to [email protected].

Space is limited in the Community Centre so we'd really appreciate RSVPs. As ever, ALL are welcome: all genders, members and non-members (feel free to bring along a friend).
