Q: Why volunteer with the Women’s Equality Party?
A: Volunteers make our party possible by building the foundation of our movement and continue to be part of its growth. You'll be part of the only political party that puts equality for women front and centre. Volunteers are a crucial part of the Women’s Equality Party, and like our members and supporters, WE can’t do it without them. Volunteering is also a great way to develop your skills, learn new ones and really step up your activism in making equality a reality.
Q: What should I expect from volunteering?
A: We pride ourselves in offering volunteers the chance to gain new skills and grow the ones they already have. Day to day you can expect to be working closely with the team mostly in your area of interest and perhaps explore avenues you maybe haven't tried before. Volunteering with us is also a great chance to be part of a fresh, exciting political movement and expand your feminist circle, sharing ideas and gaining new ones with likeminded people.
Q: How do I find a volunteer role near me?
A: Since the Coronavirus crisis the central office team have moved our volunteering opportunities online, so all roles can be done remotely from anywhere in the world! If you're more interested in making change happen locally, our local branches are always looking for new members and volunteers to join their team. Find your local branch today >>
Q: What does it mean to volunteer with my local branch?
A: Volunteering with your local branch is the perfect opportunity to fast track change in your area and build up our movement. Within your local branch there are various roles that your branch officer can discuss with you, to help you decide which area of volunteering will suit you best. From data managing to placard making there are many ways to volunteer and boost your activism in your local area.
Q: Will my expenses be covered?
A: At this time we cannot offer our volunteers any expense coverage, but what we can't cover financially we can cover in fun, support and experience all within a community of like-minded individuals.
Q: How much time would have I to give to volunteering?
A: We ask a minimum of one day a week volunteering for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Q: I have a disability, can I still volunteer?
A: Yes, we would like to hear from anyone interested in volunteering with us, including anyone living with a disability.
Q: I'm under 18, can I still apply to volunteer?
A: Unfortunately we are not able to take on volunteers who are under 18 for insurance reasons. But you can still take action by becoming a member of our party: by simply joining you are making change happen. Join here >>
Q: How do I apply?
A: To apply, simply fill out our application form and a member of our team will be in contact with you. We ask that you are patient with us as we are a small team, and although we try to review applications as quickly as we can however this is not always possible and there may be a delay in getting back to you.
