International research has shown that women in media are systematically underrepresented as editors, reporters and sources in the media.
In the business media, this is even worse: recent research undertaken by the 100s Project found that women in media only make up 12% of quotes in the UK’s business pages.
To address the treatment of women by and in the media, the Women’s Equality Party (for which equal treatment of women by and in the media is a core part of its manifesto), and the 100s Project are bringing together journalists and senior women in business to help shift this reality by connecting those that write the news, with those that should be commenting on it.
