Local Elections 2018

We’re delighted to announce that Harini Iyengar is the first ever WEP candidate to run for Mayor of Hackney and for councillor in Dalston on 3rd May 2018.

Why run in Hackney?

In Hackney, 41% of children are in poverty. This is not acceptable in one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Unaffordable housing in the borough disproportionately affects lone parents. We are standing to hold the majority Labour council accountable and to ensure they are transparent and deliver on policies which disproportionately affects women. Issues such as child poverty, SEN cuts, rent affordability and homelessness are among some of the pressing issues in Hackney. That’s why WE need you to help fight for equality!
