In the coming weeks the government will be deciding whether to bow to pressure from anti-choice activists and roll back abortion access for women across England.
If the government rolls back our rights now it would not only squander some of the major improvements made to reproductive healthcare over the last year. It will force the 30,000 women a year who choose at home abortions back into waiting rooms, and push as many as fourteen women a week to seek illegal abortions.
Take action
On Tuesday 15th June at 5pm we will be taking action both online and in-person to amplify the voices of the fourteen women a week who will be criminalised if the government bows to pressure from anti choice groups.
If taking action online:
💻 Post on Twitter to demand Matt Hancock doesn't remove at-home abortions. You can post an image of a placard or just the post itself.
💻 Hit post at 5pm on Tuesday 15th June using #14AWeek and @WEP_UK @MattHancock on Twitter
💻 Example post: Listen to women @MattHancock. Don’t criminalise #14aweek by rolling back abortion access.
If taking action in-person:
✅ Wear a face mask (unless you are medically exempt)
✅ Use hand sanitiser before attending the protest.
✅ As COVID regulations are still in place, we may need to separate groups of more than 30 protesters.
✅ Please be prepared to relocate if you are asked to by one of our volunteers.
