WE will be holding an open branch meeting, "Policy WE Make: Enough is Enough", on 19th April in the heart of Haringey. Following our final open meeting as the joint Haringey and Barnet branch, we know our members and supporters want to talk policy, so the first open meeting as the new Haringey branch will focus on the stated aim of the Women's Equality Party Policy document approved at conference, namely:
Women need to feel empowered to challenge, not tolerate, sexual violence and gender-based abuse. WE will work to provide clear and safe pathways to reporting crimes – including the acts of everyday sexism that pervade our culture and must not be trivialised.
Susan Paterson, WE Haringey committee member and a criminologist specialising in diversity, equality, and hate crime including domestic abuse, will lead a panel discussion, followed by breakout groups. If you would like to join us and discuss ways to end violence against women and girls in Haringey, please RSVP.
